Establishment of SC/ST Committee
The institution has established an SC/ST Committee in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission and Government of India norms to safeguard the interests of students and staff belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The committee ensures equality, social justice, and protection against discrimination within the campus.
Objectives
- To ensure equal opportunities in academic and administrative activities
- To safeguard SC/ST students and staff from discrimination and harassment
- To address grievances related to caste-based issues
- To promote social inclusion and awareness
Composition of the Committee
The committee is constituted with:
- Principal / Head of Institution (Chairperson)
- Faculty members (including SC/ST representatives)
- Administrative staff member
- Student representatives (SC/ST category)
Mechanism
- Grievances can be submitted through written applications, email, or complaint boxes
- Regular interaction with SC/ST students to identify issues
- Awareness programs on rights, scholarships, and government schemes
Procedure
- Submission of grievance by the complainant
- Preliminary review by the committee
- Detailed inquiry into the issue
- Recommendation of appropriate action
- Communication of resolution to the concerned person
- Follow-up for implementation

- Zero tolerance towards discrimination or harassment
- Confidential handling of complaints
- Time-bound redressal process
- Proper documentation and reporting
