Establishment of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
The institution has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and guidelines of University Grants Commission to ensure a safe, secure, and gender-sensitive environment for all stakeholders.
Objectives
- To prevent and prohibit sexual harassment at the workplace
- To provide a safe and respectful environment for women
- To ensure prompt redressal of complaints
- To promote awareness on gender equality and rights
Composition of ICC
The committee is constituted as per statutory norms:
- Presiding Officer (Senior woman faculty member)
- At least two faculty members
- One non-teaching staff member
- One external member (from NGO/legal background)
- Adequate representation of women members
Mechanism
- Complaints can be submitted:
- In writing to the ICC
- Through email or online mode
- Via complaint/suggestion boxes
- Awareness programs, workshops, and orientation sessions are conducted regularly
Procedure
- Submission of complaint by the aggrieved person
- Acknowledgment and preliminary review
- Inquiry conducted by ICC as per norms
- Hearing of both parties with confidentiality
- Submission of report with recommendations
- Action taken by the institution based on the report

- Strict confidentiality of proceedings
- No retaliation against the complainant
- Time-bound inquiry and resolution
- Fair and unbiased investigation
Outcome
The ICC ensures a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment, promotes gender sensitization, and strengthens institutional commitment to ethical practices.
