Establishment of Anti-Ragging Committee
The institution has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee in accordance with the guidelines of AICTE and University Grants Commission to ensure a safe, secure, and ragging-free campus environment. The committee actively works to prevent ragging in all forms and to promote a culture of mutual respect and discipline among students.
Objectives
- To prohibit, prevent, and eliminate ragging on campus
- To create awareness about the adverse effects of ragging
- To ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students
- To take prompt action against any reported incidents
Composition of the Committee
The Anti-Ragging Committee is constituted with representation from various stakeholders:
- Principal / Head of Institution (Chairperson)
- Senior faculty members
- Administrative staff
- Student representatives (senior and junior)
- Parent representative
- Local community / NGO representative (if applicable)
Mechanism
- Display of anti-ragging guidelines and helpline numbers on campus
- Submission of anti-ragging affidavits by students and parents at the time of admission
- Conduct of awareness programs, orientation sessions, and campaigns
- Installation of complaint boxes and provision for online complaint submission
Procedure
- Receipt of complaint (written/online/verbal)
- Immediate preliminary inquiry by the committee
- Detailed investigation of the incident
- Strict disciplinary action against offenders as per norms
- Reporting to concerned authorities if required
Preventive Measures
- Regular monitoring of sensitive areas such as hostels, canteen, and campus premises
- Mentoring system for first-year students
- Surprise inspections and interaction with students
